Intercession is defined as asking for good things from someone for others. It is exclusive to the Muslims. The Prophets intercede, as well as the scholars, martyrs, and angels.
The Prophet, salla-l-lahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:
“شفاعتي لأهل الكبائر من أمتي” رواه الحاكم وصححه
This means: “My intercession will be for those of my people who have committed major sins,” narrated by al-Hakim, who authenticated it.
No intercession is granted for the blasphemers on the Day of Judgment. Allah ta^ala said in Surat al-Anbiya’ verse #28:
﴿ولا يشفعون إلا لمن ارتضى﴾ سورة الأنبياء
The verse means: [and they cannot intercede except to whom He approves].
