The meritorious shaykh doctor Bilal Hallaq, General manager for Darul-Fatwa in California, started the opening session of the 18th annual Global Conference on Sufism under the banner of his highness Muhammad the Sixth,  may Allah protect him, in the presence of the Shaykh of the Qadiri Tariqah, Shaykh Jamalud-Deen Al-Butsheeshiyy and his son, Doctor Munir, may Allah protect them both, and in the presence of a large gathering of scholars, muftis, professors, politicians, and educators, who came as delegates from the five continents, representing the nations and the Sufi paths.

Shaykh Bilal welcomed the attendants and congratulated them for their attending the celebration of the honored prophetic birth. He gave condolences for the brothers who passed during the earthquake in Morocco and the flood in Libya, hoping for the curing of the sick and help and assistance for the unfortunate.

Doctor Hallaq spoke of the importance of the Global Conference on Sufism and that true Sufism is knowledge coupled with implementation and benefiting the people with goodness. He importuned the custodians with the doctrine of the people of Al-Maghrib/Morocco; The Ash^ariyy Creed, Malikiyy fiqh/jurisprudence, and the sufi methodology of Al-Junayd As-Salik.

Global television networks and official press outlets were present to cover this global conference that convened in the Moroccan city of Madagh.
